WORD FOR THE MONTH 14/11/2024
LUKE I:37 FOR WITH GOD NOTHING SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
For me this is the best verse in the BIBLE!!! Well, there are several verses I love. But l find great comfort in this verse. For instance, the context from which it came about is the greatest mystery in the bible. It is on this mystery that the whole of Christianity stands. It is the birth and the death and resurrection of Jesus that gives Christians reason for hope.
What does this mean?
There are two ways to see this verse. You can say it means if you take your problems to God in heaven, He will solve them for you from heaven. The other way is not to view God as a detarched God above in heaven, l tend to see Him as a Father who is walking with me holding my hand so that when l enter any situation He is with me as He promised in Isaiah 43:1-3 Isaiah 43:1–5
Israel’s Only Savior
[1] But now thus says the LORD,
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
[2] When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you.
[3] For I am the LORD your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
I give Egypt as your ransom,
Cush and Seba in exchange for you.
[4] Because you are precious in my eyes,
and honored, and I love you,
I give men in return for you,
peoples in exchange for your life.
[5] Fear not, for I am with you;
When you read such promises in the Bible you get encouraged because you are sure you are not alone.
David also said the same idea in
Psalm 23:4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
God is always with us no matter where we are in life.
In the bible we find several scriptures that teach us this principle. For with God nothing shall be impossible. The story of Abraham and Sarah HAVING A CHILD AT 100 AND SARAH 90,There was no hope but there is nothing too hard for the Lord.
9 Then they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?”
So he said, “Here, in the tent.”
10 And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.”
(Sarah was listening in the tent door which wasbehind him.) 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and [b]Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. 12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”
13 And the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”
